Christmas is coming early this year—complete with a dash of mischief and a lot of heart.
Wonder Works Films is thrilled to announce that Emmy Award–winning actor Jim O’Heir, beloved for his role as Jerry Gergich on NBC’s Parks and Recreation, has officially joined the cast of the upcoming holiday short film The Naughty List as Santa Claus.
Currently in pre-production and set to film later this month, The Naughty List follows a mischievous little girl named Charley who kidnaps Santa Claus on Christmas Eve to bargain her way off the Naughty List. But as the night spirals into chaos—booby traps, cookie crumbs, and all—Santa and Charley discover that sometimes, getting naughty is the only way to set things right.
“Jim brings such warmth, humor, and humanity to the role,” says writer-director Brandon Osterman. “His Santa is funny, frazzled, and deeply human—exactly the kind of heart this story needed. We couldn’t imagine a better Santa to bring the magic to life.”
Backed by the SCADpro Fund and produced through Wonder Works Films, The Naughty List has already garnered major attention in the film community, earning accolades for its screenplay—including the Final Draft Big Break Award and Coverfly’s #1 short project of all time.
With production kicking off in Georgia this summer, audiences can expect a visually rich, emotionally resonant Christmas comedy that blends the heartfelt magic of Elf with the Christmas hi jinx of Home Alone.
